Enabling and managing the Algolia search feature in the AI Commerce online store

Creating an Algolia Account:

Create an account on Algolia's website. Algolia offers a free trial and a PAYG (Pay as you go) model that are well-suited for trying out and implementing the service.

1. Pricing and Optionality:

   • Algolia is a third-party, optional tool whose pricing is determined by Algolia. However, with the PAYG model, the costs are quite affordable.

     
     

2. Algolia Settings and API Keys:

   • Once you have created an account, select PHP as the programming language during the setup phase, and Algolia will provide you with the AppID and AppSecret keys. You can also retrieve these keys from your account settings.

     
     

3. Entering API Keys into AI Commerce Store:

   • Go to the MyStore page in the AI Commerce store and enter the Algolia AppID and AppSecret keys into the configuration fields.

     
     

4. Forcing Indexing:

   • Once the API keys have been entered, go to the top right corner of the management interface and select the rocket icon. Click the Force Reload Algolia Indexes button, which will trigger the indexing. This ensures that Algolia loads all your store's product data and category data.

   
   

5. Daily Automatic Update:

   • AI Commerce automatically updates product data and category data to Algolia daily at 05:00. After the update, Algolia search results will include the latest information. If needed, indexing can also be manually triggered at any time through the rocket icon by selecting Force Reload Algolia Indexes.

   
   

6. Manual Sorting of Products in Algolia:

   • In the Algolia management interface, you can arrange products based on different attributes. AI Commerce sends Algolia the view counts, order counts, availability counts, and ranking data for products. You can combine these data points to create your own sorting configurations.

     
     

7. Re-ranking and Recommendations in Algolia:

   • AI Commerce supports Algolia's re-ranking feature, which uses machine learning to optimize search results. AI Commerce sends Algolia information about the products clicked in search results, displayed results, and session data from customers, allowing Algolia's algorithm to improve recommendations on a per-customer basis.

     
     

8. Extensive Functionality and Development Support from Algolia:

   • Algolia is a well-known international player with numerous partners for its services. Algolia offers versatile functions for enhancing search results, but AI Commerce is not the primary partner for these advanced features. We recommend collaborating with Algolia's partners or utilizing the training and educational materials provided by Algolia.

   • Petrosoft offers customization of integrations and further development at additional cost if necessary.
