The Custom Options field has been removed from the previous free-form comment field and replaced with clear, separate fields that are visible in the user interface, control panel, and receipt. With this update, if the Custom Instructions feature is set for the product, the customer cannot add the product to the shopping cart without a mandatory comment. This improves communication between the buyer and the supplier in situations where product configurations or additional instructions are critical for successful delivery.
The system checks the comment requirement on a per-product basis: if Custom Instructions are set for a product, providing a comment is mandatory. If the feature is not set, the customer can still optionally add a voluntary additional comment. The logic of the user interface can be fine-tuned if necessary in collaboration with the development partner, should customer-specific requirements arise.
